Please note, we do not ship to PO boxes.

Do you test your metal and gemstones?

All the pieces sold on MagpieChats are made with precious metals (gold, silver and platinum). For determining the type of metal, we use the Hallmarks on the item.

Hallmarking is the official process of independently testing and stamping items made of precious metals to certify their metal purity and authenticity.

Where a hallmark is not present or obscured, the items are tested using XRF Testing. XRF (X-ray fluorescence) testing is a fast, non-destructive method used to determine the purity and elemental composition of gold and other precious metals. It shines an X-ray beam onto the item, causing atoms to emit signature secondary X-rays that identify exact karat weight and alloy elements. Please refer to the item descriptions for specific details.

All pieces where the gemstones represent a significant part of the value of the item are tested by an independent GemA certified gemologist. Any descriptions of 'natural' stones indicate independent gemological testing.

A gemological certificate can be provided with the piece - please purchase the 'Gemologist Certificate' or the 'WGI Certificate'.

For some pieces where the gemstone value is negligible compared to the gold (e.g. garnets in a 9k gold piece) we sometimes use our judgement to estimate the stones and provide the best value to the customer. Please refer to the specific item descriptions, or contact us for more information.

Do you offer resizing?

We can offer resizing on most rings. For a standard resize within 3 sizes, please purchase the 'Standard Resize' add on.
For other resizes please get in touch for a custom quote.

Do you accept returns?

We hope that you love your items and that they fit well. We endeavour to minimise returns by providing many photos and videos. Please ask us any sizing questions beforehand, we are happy to help!

If you would like to return your item, you have 14 days - please see Returns for the full policy. Please ship the item using a tracked and insured postal service.
